North Goa vs South Goa — the real answer
Every Goa trip starts with this debate. North Goa has the party beaches, the action, the flea markets, and the backpacker hostels. South Goa has quieter beaches, UNESCO heritage, waterfalls, and significantly better food. The honest answer: do both.
This 5-day itinerary splits your time between both sides without feeling rushed.

Practical tips
- Season: November to February is peak season — best weather but higher prices. March has good weather and lower crowds. Avoid June–September (monsoon, many shacks closed).
- Transport: Scooter for North Goa, cab for day trips. Goa Miles and Rapido Bike work decently.
- Cash: Carry enough — many shacks and smaller places don't take UPI or cards reliably.
- Safety: Swimming flags matter. Red flag = don't enter the water. This is not a suggestion.
- Booking: In peak season (Dec–Jan), book accommodation at least 3–4 weeks ahead.
